New Paintings

Well, since we finally got all settled and I have my Art “Closet” studio set up, I am able to get back to work “Bringing Life to canvas, paint and brush strokes” (I like my quote, how about you!)

I just finished varnishing 4 new paintings, as usual my wife stole one!

The first is my wife’s – a 36″wide x 24″ tall acrylic landscape of a fall scene with all of God’s beautiful colors and a tremendous snowcapped mountain scene “It’s Fall”.

“It’s Fall”

Next is a theme I am really getting into lately – Trains. This one is titled “Train Through the Clouds. It is acrylic, 20″ wide x 16” tall. This one is for sale on my Etsy site for $185.00. It was fun learning how to get the chrome/stainless appearance as well as getting the rolling clouds correct around the train.

“Train Through the clouds”

Next is everyones favorite – Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle… I call this one “Santa’s Pose” it is 20″ Tall x 16″ wide acrylic. It is for sale on my Etsy site $185.00

“Santa’s Pose”

Last but definitely not least is another favorite theme of mine BIRDS. This is a lone Cardinal perched on branches during winter. It is 10″ wide x 8″ tall acrylic. This is for sale as well on my Etsy site for $95.00.

Don’t forget, Christmas is not that far off, all orders on my Etsy site are free shipping and I do custom work as well.

All Settled in, A Police Officer Needs Help

Well we have finally all settled in. My family believes strongly in helping those in need, especially those that defend and protect us.

This is a post from a local social media site “Next Door” here in Montgomery.

Montgomery Police Officer Carlos Taylor was critically injured in the line of duty protecting us. The critical injuries left Carlos paralyzed and wheelchair bound. His family is in dire need of a special van with lift gate so Carlos can be transported. Between now and the end of Labor Day weekend we are going to meet and surpass our goal of 25K. Knowing my Facebook and NextDoor friends and how you always step up, I believe we will raise the entire 60K! Please join me in giving to Wounded Blue through the site below. No gift is too small and all are 100% tax deductible. We need business owners as well as individuals to all give something regardless of the amount. Please respond on my Facebook page or NextDoor when you give so I can personally thank you. Back the Blue on Labor Day weekend, 2020!!

We have offered to donate several paintings for auction to help this family in need, we need your help in getting as much as possible for these, 100% of the money raised goes to the family in need.

Please visit my EBAY store to bid on these items, please remember I will get nothing, all proceeds go to help this family.

We Moved!

Well we made the big move, and we did allot of it ourselves (NEVER AGAIN) I know now why the movers get the big bucks! Between a 26′ U haul truck, their big trailer, our van and three trips between Huntsville and Montgomery we are moved.

We hired helpers thru on hauls site and that was a huge help but my wife and I are not the shape we used to be (especially me :o(

My studio is smaller, which will really help me keep myself more organized and I won’t be able to do as much oil paint, I use the water based oils which are supposed to be much less odor but my gorgeous wife’s fume finder says otherwise!

I did try a what is it what will it become and we had a winner but unfortunately my hands are hurting so bad I couldn’t do the painting justice. It was a painting of Mount Fuji in Japan. I offered her to look through my portfolio and have her pick one, I hope she does.

Well, nw that we have moved and we are mostly unpacked I hope I can keep this up better.

Till Next Time

Couldn’t help myself

Amidst the boredom of reading, doing yard work, and knocking out the honey-do-list I just kept feeling like I was missing something.

I found it, I had do do a little unpacking from what I packed away to move, and lo and behold I found what I was looking for! My painting supplies!

Fortunately I did an inventory sheet of all the boxes I packed which made it easy, I only needed to open 1 tote! I had my easels piled in a corner and set up a 6 foot table and stated to scratch my itch, fill in the emptiness haunting my subconscious, put my hands to work – well, you get the idea!

Here are two that I just completed this week the first is a 20″w x 16″t acrylic painting of Placencia Beach, Belize, specifically the area around the Barefoot Beach Bar. My son Dr. Josh took allot of pictures when he was there and I picked areas from several different to make this. Title – I don’t know, help me out!!

The second is something my wife has been begging me to do for a while and I was hesitant because I have always felt the animals are such a beautiful beast that I was afraid I would do it injustice. What do you think? It is a 14″W x 11″t acrylic of a white tiger.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope everyone is staying safe and doing they’re social distancing! Until next time!
